Point 25 | Library Exploration App

Encouraging students to re-engage with libraries through exploration and rewards (University project in collaboration with the M25 Consortium)

The M25 Consortium challenged us to find ways to encourage students to engage more with libraries, as footfall had been declining. While many approached this brief with print campaigns, I wanted to explore how an interactive, digital solution could offer a more engaging experience.

Role

This became my first real attempt at UX/UI design. I led the concept, design, and execution of the app.

Process

  • Interpreted the brief and explored alternative formats beyond print

  • Ideated around gamification and user engagement

  • Designed the core user journey, structure, and UI elements

  • Focused on aligning digital interactions with physical exploration and reward

Solution

An app that allows students to create personalised journeys based on their interests. Each journey guides them through museums and cultural landmarks, ultimately leading them to a library.

Earn points by visiting locations and unlocking location-specific content

Get journey information like travel time, distance, ratings, and recommended collections

Receive reading lists connected to their chosen topics

Bookmark points of interest for future reference
